On Jason Anderson moving to Pipes Motorsport Group and riding a Suzuki
“I think something that our team is built on, and kind of what we stand by, is that this is a rider-driven team. So we really want to not get lost in the data. Whereas we do have all these things, we can see the numbers. We can see it all.
“There’s also that feeling, so we take that into account with the direction that we want to go. So for us, just giving Jason that freedom to not solely focus on the numbers and what the bike’s supposed to do and what he’s supposed to feel, rather than how it is when he’s on the bike.
“I think it just breathes a little bit of fresh air into him. I think anytime a rider can switch teams and get new people, it gives them a little bit of a jump, so I think that’s what you’re seeing from Jason right now.”
On the team’s rider line-up for 2025
We have new riders. No French riders, three Americans and one Australian rider. We really believe in our riders, and we made the choice to take the best riders to fight for podiums. We try to work with them from all over the world and we do our best, and I think we have a really good team for this year.
On getting Stark’s entry approved by FIM.
“The process was long. It’s been a couple of years that we have been working on it. Most of it was really regulations and being able to work with FIM.
“We are really highly controlled, even more than these guys on on the conventional bikes. We have 100% transparency with the FIM. They monitor every second of what the bike does, which doesn’t happen on any of these guys.
“So the level of control that is on our bike is really, really high and I understand. It’s normal because it’s for equality.
On his rider line-up for 2025
“I’m very happy because it was very important for us to work with French riders, because the French level is very good. We can see a lot of good French riders in America and as we were leading the French Supercross Championship, it is a very good opportunity to come with French riders – and to have Max Anstie. I worked on that for a long time, and it was incredible to find a way to be with him. I’m very happy this season because our team has a very big level and we hope we can fight for the team title.”
On his team’s line up and the threat posed by Stark
“The reality of it is we have some stiff competition. We can’t discount what the Suzuki team. I mean, Ken Roczen, Jason Anderson, Kyle Chisholm and Robbie Wageman.
“We’ve certainly got our work cut out for us. It’s far from a foregone conclusion. But we take the team’s championship seriously. I think we are in a good position for the overall championship for riders.
“The 250 class, again, is going to be hard fought. Max Anstie is a great competitor, but Shane McElrath hopefully takes it to him! But there are some serious contenders and it’s extremely unknown what the Stark can do. We know that the bike is fast.
On his team’s rider line-up.
“I have the two best Arenacross riders that are in the U.S. right now with Ryan Breece and Austin Politelli and when we get to tracks that are going to be tighter and smaller, I feel like we’re going to have riders that can excel.”
