We are delighted to release details of the official Rider of the Round award, allowing teams, media and fans to select their top performers in both classes at each event.
Fans will cast the deciding vote from a shortlist selected by Team Principals and our broadcast presenters, with the winning rider in SX1 and SX2 classes being awarded a prize of US$10,000 to each.
Stage 1 – Team Submissions
Each Team is required to submit one Rider of the Round pick for SX1 and one Rider of the Round pick for SX2.
Teams must ensure their selections are based on performance, sportsmanship, or standout contribution.
Teams cannot vote for a member of their own team. Wildcards are not included.
Stage 2 – Broadcast Team Selection
The broadcast presenters will also submit their Rider of the Round choices across SX1 and SX2.
Their votes carry equal weight to individual team submissions.
Selections will be based off the same criteria as the teams.
Stage 3 – Shortlisting
All submitted votes are compiled by World Supercross.
The riders with the highest number of votes across each category will form the Rider of the Round shortlist.
Stage 4 – The fan vote
The shortlisted riders will be put forward for a public fan vote with voting take place on the official World Supercross Instagram site here.
Stage 5 – Final Result & Announcement
World Supercross will close the vote 24 hours after it opens
The official Rider of the Round will be announced at the following race. At the season finale in Cape Town, the Rider of the Round prizes will be confirmed at the end of the round.
