Quad Lock Honda’s Joey Savatgy, who has been riding well all season, took third in the Superpole, while Jason Anderson, who is making his debut in the series at 32, got fourth gate pick.
Meanwhile, Anstie backed up many people’s preseason predictions that he would be in contention for the SX2 title by taking the Superpole with a lap time of 54.472.
The Team GSM Powered by Star Racing rider, who won the SX2 World Supercross Championship in 2023, took the racing lines through the rhythm section to eek out enough lap time to beat Michael Hicks.
Nonetheless, the result for Hicks meant Stark’s season is off to a flyer, by taking second in the Superpole. All eyes have been on the all-electric bike, and he pushed Anstie hard and set a lap time of 54.760.
Canada’s Cole Thompson took third in the Superpole for Venum Bud Racing ahead of Brazil’s Enzo Lopes.
The Rick Ware Racing rider has plenty of local support in Buenos Aires from Brazilians who have jetted in to cheer him on.
