Brazil-based team becomes the Championship’s first
Team Principal Guilherme Kyrillos confirmed the entry, describing it as a long-term objective for the São Paulo-based team. “We are super, super excited to join the World Supercross Championship,” he said. “Our team is based in Brazil and the motocross scene there is growing.”
Kyrillos, a former rider himself, founded 595 Racing with a focus on supporting young riders who lacked access to competitive equipment and structure. The team has since expanded its program and is now the official KTM team in Brazil, a move Kyrillos describes as a key moment in its development.
“We started the team with a lot of passion for motocross,” he said. “We began by helping young talent in Brazil that couldn’t afford good bikes or a proper structure to race. As things grew, we worked with different manufacturers, and becoming the official KTM team in Brazil has been huge for us.”

Hugo Basaula appointment supports transition to global series
The move into World Supercross has been a defined target for the organisation. “We set joining the World Supercross Championship as a goal for us,” Kyrillos said. “It was a personal goal and a team goal.”
To support that transition, Kyrillos brought in former Portuguese racer Hugo Basaula as team manager. “With Hugo, we’ve been working hard to get this deal done,” he added. The team enters the Championship with an established structure in Brazil, currently running two riders in the 250 class and two in the 450 class.
Kyrillos’ background includes competing in Brazilian national events as an amateur while working full-time, an experience that shaped his approach to building the team. “I used to work during the week and race on weekends,” he said. “I always wanted to have good bikes, and that’s part of why I wanted to help younger riders coming through.”
Brazilian fanbase expected to follow team into World Supercross
With its entry confirmed, 595 Racing becomes one of the first teams to represent Brazil in the World Supercross Championship. And Kyrillos expects strong engagement from the team’s home audience as it transitions to international competition.
“It’s clear how passionate Brazilian fans are,” he said. “When Brazilian riders compete internationally, you see that support. We hope to bring that with us into World Supercross.”
Based in São Paulo, Kyrillos points to the pace and scale of the mega-city as an influence on the team’s development “Everything moves quickly, and you have to be in the right place at the right time,” he said.
For 595 Racing, that timing is now as the team build up to their debut in the Championship at the season-opening Canadian GP in Calgary on 8th August.
