Rick Ware Racing make Winning Start to the 2026 Season

Cooper Webb’s victory in the storm-hit SX1 class and Max Anstie’s flawless performance in the SX2 competition saw Championship favourites get off to a near perfect start in the 2026 World Supercross Championship.

The North Carolina squad have assembled a top class team for this season, with Webb and Anstie joining Justin Hill and Devin Simonson for the duration of the season.

Unsurprisingly, with such a talented line up, the team has been spoken about as the preseason favourites for the Team’s Championship title. And they got off to an excellent start, despite the extreme weather in Calgary that saw the final race red flagged and unable to resume.

“Yeah, it worked out pretty good for us,” said Antolak after the event. “Actually, I think that cancellation of the third race actually helped us out, because now Justin gets joint-second [tied on 16 points with Quad Lock Honda’s Dean Wilson], instead of third. So, you know, sometimes when it goes bad, that even helps you out. You have a good weekend when things go bad and it still works out in your favour!”

Antolak says that Rick Ware Racing’s commitment to a strong line up in World Supercross this season comes as they mount an attempt to win the the team’s title from reigning champions, Quad Lock Honda.

When asked about the strong line up, he added: “Well, we were pretty getting tired of Yarrive [Konsky – Quad Lock Honda boss]winning it all the time! so I want to give them a little competition. I’d like to have them be a little stressed this year!”

With a short break now before the next event in Birmingham, Antolak says they will not be resting on their laurels during the gap in racing.

“Well, no matter how good you look on paper, you still have to go out there and race,” he said. “Yeah. “But this definitely helps this weekend, we laid the ground work to have some more good results from now on.”
