With Cooper Webb, Joey Savatgy and Christian Craig now confirmed, the countdown to the opening round of the FIM World Supercross Championship is on.
3x AMA Supercross Champion Cooper Webb makes World Supercross full season debut

The 2026 World Supercross season is heating up ahead of the Canadian GP curtain raiser on 8th August in Calgary. Rick Ware Racing confirmed that three time champion Cooper Webb is locked in after he made his debut in the Championship last year as a wildcard in the Australian GP.

From established champions and proven race winners to ambitious young talent and emerging international contenders, the roster is packed with exciting names—with even more still to be announced.

Rick Ware Racing chose one of motorsport’s biggest stages to reveal its 2026 line-up, announcing its line up during NASCAR’s Coca-Cola 600 weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The crossover activation saw the team’s World Supercross riders featured on Cody Ware’s No. 51 Chevrolet, introducing the Championship to one of racing’s largest television audiences and reinforcing the growing relationship between World Supercross and mainstream international motorsport.

Webb’s signing instantly transforms Rick Ware Racing into a legitimate title threat. Known for his racecraft, consistency, and ability to perform under pressure, Webb now enters the Championship full-time and will undoubtedly become one of the central figures of the SX1 title fight.

Alongside Webb, Rick Ware Racing has assembled one of the strongest line-ups in the paddock. Justin Hill returns with valuable World Supercross experience after previous campaigns with Venum Bud Racing Kawasaki, bringing aggressive speed and veteran knowledge to the SX1 category. In SX2, Coty Schock returns following a breakout 2025 season that saw him finish third in the Championship standings, while Devin Simonson moves into SX2 after competing in SX1 last year—a class switch that could unlock significant potential.

Quad Lock Honda Prepare for Fierce Title Battle

Rick Ware Racing is far from the only team assembling serious firepower for 2026. Defending Teams’ Champions Quad Lock Honda have retained one of the Championship’s most balanced pairings with Joey Savatgy and Christian Craig, both returning for another season.

Savatgy enters 2026 following a hard-earned runner-up finish in 2025, a campaign built around consistency, resilience, and opportunistic racing. Aggressive and decisive on track, he now returns as one of the clearest title contenders in the field.

Craig, meanwhile, offers a contrasting style built around patience and race management. Third overall last season, the experienced American demonstrated his Championship credentials through disciplined performances across the calendar, including a standout ride at the Gold Coast GP.

Together, Savatgy and Craig provide Quad Lock Honda with one of the most complete rider combinations in the Championship— two proven front-runners capable of leading the team in very different ways.

Stark Eye Improvements from 2025 Debut Season

Another major storyline entering 2026 will be the continued development of Stark’s all-electric program. Vince Friese and Jorge Zaragoza both return after helping the pioneering electric team establish itself against traditional combustion-powered machinery during 2025.

Last season largely revolved around adaptation and experimentation for the Stark operation, but with a full year of data and development behind them, expectations are rising significantly. Friese’s aggressive, hard-charging style contrasts sharply with Zaragoza’s smoother and more adaptive approach, giving the team valuable feedback across different conditions and race situations.

Armed with increased experience and technical refinement, Stark Racing enters 2026 believing it can challenge much closer to the front of the field.

A New Team Enters the Championship

The Championship’s growing international footprint is also reflected in the arrival of new teams and rider combinations. Brazil-based newcomer 595 Racing secured experienced Frenchman Greg Aranda, whose familiarity with the demands of World Supercross could prove invaluable for a first-year operation navigating the series’ unique travel schedule and constantly changing race environments.

Aranda’s 2025 season showed promise before injury interrupted his campaign, but his understanding of the Championship’s format, venues, and pace makes him an important asset for a team entering the paddock for the first time.

Clout, Politelli, Breece Head the Latest List of Confirmed Riders

Jordi Tixier and Maxime Desprey will return to the championship with Team GSM while Venum Bud Racing Kawasaki have signed up Henry Miller, Luke Clout and Mitchell Harrison. MotoConcepts Racing will again turn to Austin Politelli and Ryan Breece while Stark have again secured Michael Hicks, who impressed last season.

Such emerging names are helping create a globally representative field while adding unpredictability throughout the grid.

Their addition reflects one of World Supercross’ defining ambitions to create a truly international supercross championship where the right to be crowned the World Champion remains the biggest prize.

However, the Championship’s expanding footprint across North America, Europe and Australia offers a stern test to even the best riders at the gate. That unpredictability has become one of the Championship’s greatest strengths.

As anticipation builds toward the opening Canadian GP at McMahon Stadium in Calgary, fans will finally get their first look at a field loaded with proven champions, international contenders and emerging talent, all chasing the same opportunity.

If the early rider announcements are any indication, the 2026 FIM World Supercross Championship could deliver the most important and fiercely contested season the sport has seen yet.
